Flavourful Fruit Salad

  • by

This quick and easy fruit salad is full of flavour thanks to the combination of berries, kiwis, mandarin orange segments, grapes, and pineapple with a honey lime dressing. It’s a quick and simple side dish that’s great for potlucks, picnics, and other group gatherings.
Making a fresh fruit salad is a breeze and is a great way to ensure that everyone at the table is getting plenty of healthy fruit. My favourite fruits to include are blackberries, kiwis, and strawberries, but you can use whatever is fresh and delectable in your area. When in season, consume as many mangoes, watermelons, and gooseberries as you can.

Recipe for Fruit Salad

  • To make lime juice, zest one lime and squeeze the liquid into a bowl.
  • Mix the lime juice and zest with the three teaspoons of honey. To thin the dressing and add flavor, I like to mix in a tablespoon of orange liqueur or the liquid from a few mandarin orange slices.
  • Slicing a kiwi is a simple process, even if you’ve never done it before. Cut the fruit in half and use a spoon to scrape the shell off the inside.
  • Prepare your fruit by washing, drying, and hulling the strawberries. It’s fine to keep the blackberries and strawberries whole.
  • You should dice up the pineapple. It’s pleasant to have a variety of fruits on a single spoon, so please cut them up into manageable sizes.
  • As you prepare the fruit for serving or storage, move the pieces to a big bowl. You can use just about any fruit you like, but for a more intriguing salad, try to get a mix of sweet, acidic, soft, and firm fruits.
  • Mix the dressing and drizzle it over the produce.
  • Mix the berries with the dressing by gently tossing the salad. In the same way that strawberries soften with time, kiwi and pineapple improve a salad by releasing more juice and reducing their intensity. Before serving, give it one more toss.

How To Make The Perfect Fruit Salad

  • Bananas, which can easily turn brown, should be added just before serving.
  • Add a dash of Grand Marnier or Cointreau to the dressing, but leave it out if you’re feeding it to kids.
  • Treat those berries gently. You want to avoid crushing the kiwi and berry slices in the salad as you toss the salad to evenly spread the dressing.
  • Mint is a flavour enhancer that can be used sparingly. Some of it can be used as a decoration, and the rest of the leaves can be added to the salad and tossed.
  • You can make the dressing with lemon peel and juice instead of lime if you prefer.
